A rough Elevational sketch of the Buildings I porpose to use.

My treatise proposal is the design of an Urban Sustainability Centre in the Premier Milling buildings which are on Main street and in the CBD area of Port Elizabeth.

In order to shape a Sustainable City, a Sustainably community needs to be developed. In order to become such a community, a heightened sense of social consciousness is imperative. Cultivating awareness of how the needs and lifestyle of an individual or group within a community affects an urban environment.

The Urban Sustainability centre will aim to involve individuals from the various social standings in the communities within the city. Training for professionals in the Built and environmental sectors will be presented sustainable and innovative lecture halls/auditoriums. Informal training sessions will assist members of the community to make optimum use of their balconies, backyard or freestanding pots in order to become more self-sufficient and sustainable.

I am still in the process of defining my Treatise topic. Until now the two concepts I have proposed may not have been entirely feasible due to the fact that they had stronger Architectural components than it had Interior design components.
